Direct Assessment courses allow you to complete limited courses by studying material on your own and successfully completing an exam. It can save you time and money by allowing up to 30 credits of General Education or Elective requirements to be fulfilled with a proficiency exam.
Most courses DO NOT require any assignments besides the final exam. Assignments are listed on the course as a study aid, but do not need to be submitted and will not be graded.
The one exception to this is Environmental Science, which requires online assignments which will be graded. Make sure you buy access to the online assignments when you buy the textbook.
The format for the test includes short answer questions such as multiple choice, true or false, fill in the blanks, short answer or short essays. (the one exception is Character Development, which has a final paper instead of an exam).
The material is listed on the syllabus or Moodle course-site. The chapters you need to study in the textbook are listed there, please refer to the syllabus for the resources and information you will need to learn for the exam.
