Direct Assessment courses allow you to complete limited courses by studying material on your own and successfully completing an exam. It can save you time and money by allowing up to 30 credits of General Education or Elective requirements to be fulfilled with a proficiency exam.
Most courses DO NOT require any assignments besides the final exam. Assignments are listed on the course as a study aid, but do not need to be submitted and will not be graded.
The one exception to this is Environmental Science, which requires online assignments which will be graded. Make sure you buy access to the online assignments when you buy the textbook.
The format for the test includes short answer questions such as multiple choice, true or false, fill in the blanks, short answer or short essays. (the one exception is Character Development, which has a final paper instead of an exam).
The material is listed on the syllabus or Moodle course-site. The chapters you need to study in the textbook are listed there, please refer to the syllabus for the resources and information you will need to learn for the exam.
70 is a passing grade for all Woodmont College courses.
Yes. The exam will appear as a grade on your transcript, not as pass/fail
Once you sign up and pay for the course, you are free to complete it at any time prior to graduation, unless it is a prerequisite which must be completed before continuing to other, more advanced courses (for example, CPT 105 and MAT 102 are prerequisites for most computer courses).
You are not required to buy a textbook for the course, but it is recommended. Some courses will require knowledge directly from the textbook in order to pass the exam.
